I joined Facebook this summer and I am rediscovering people from Matling!!!! It's a modern tool to reconnect your long, lost friends!!!! It's just a click away to bring back memories......fun and very convenient and not to mention it's FREE!!!.
I excitedly chatted with Sonia Crispino, Rosemary Astronomo and some others reminiscing about Matling. Facebook anyone?

My name is Ruth Violanda, my maiden name. I'm in Australia right now but will be going back to the Philippines in a short while. I know Matling well as the Spencers were my godparents. My mother is Ismaela Violanda and I'm sure a lot of residents knew her well. Ate Mila also happened to stay with us in our farm in Itil with the late Mrs. Pearl Spencer after my father got killed. I will be visiting Matling again as soon as I settle and organize myself. I can't wait to see all the changes and hope to visit the Spencers . I've in touch with the Doherty's and also knew that they were there recently for a visit with my mother and the Panganiban's.
ReplyDeleteI have enjoyed reading One Summer Day In Matling.
ReplyDeleteMy grandfather, Herbert C. Spencer was Ralph Spencer's younger brother. My father is David c. Spencer. Ralph & Pearl visited our family in the late 70's. Pearl visited again in the 80's after Ralph had passed away & she was recovering from a broken hip.How nice to know you were their God Child. They were amazing people!
My father is hoping all is well with Richard & his family. Please give them our best wishes if you should visit.
